Lab Hours

Thursday, March 6 - went to the Anthropology museum to show Terri my plan for my storyboard, sat in on Parallel Lives group planning, looked at paint chips (1 hour)
Thursday, March 6 - attended a panel discussion of three former Sac State faculty who all studied under Robert Arneson in the 1960's.  The three, Stephen Kaltenbach, Peter VandenBergh and Gerald Walburg, attended UCDavis as students and took classes and instruction, plus other adventures in the classroom TB-9.  They had some interesting stories about those times.  Basically, they all agreed that their main focus in life was their art and that they all are still working every day. (3 hours)
Friday, March 7 - worked on my story board (2 hours)
Saturday, March 8 - went to the library to check out books on small museums and exhibit design (1 hour)  Also worked on my story board (3 hours)

Shrem Museum - New Musem to be built at UCDavis

On Saturday there was a groundbreaking ceremony for the Shrem Museum at UCDavis.  It was a very impressive event and it is very exciting that a new museum of art is being built in our area.  It will be across the street from the Mondavi Center.

Here is a link to the website:

Due to the philanthropic efforts of Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem a fabulous new art museum is in the making.  The support for the project is quite widespread and includes local artists and member of the community.  Isn't it amazing what can happen on a university campus when there is a deep concern and commitment to preserving university art collections.
